It’s easier than ever to frost a cake perfectly smooth with the help of the Wilton Icing Smoother. The sleek, stainless steel blade of the Wilton Icing Smoother is sized specifically for standard cake heights to easily smooth icing. The hand-grip is specifically molded for a secure grasp and it fits comfortably in your hand, resulting in nice, even pressure as you smooth the buttercream surface.

HI Beth I have been watching a lot of your tutorials to learn to do stuff on cupcakes and you are by far the best instructor. I did a craftsy class of yours too. I have the same question as some other commenters and that is does this technique work exactly the same for a rectangular cake? Do you have any additional advice for rectangule or square cakes? I am not good with cakes but have to make one this weekend.
