    A little history of real German Chocolate Cake: it has nothing to do with the country of Germany. It's a type/brand of chocolate invented by a baker named Samuel German in the 1950's. It's a type of sweet baking chocolate, so real German Chocolate Cakes tend to have a lighter chocolate flavor, which is really complemented by the coconut pecan frosting. It's not a dark, rich cake. It's milder and sweeter. I wouldn't call this German Chocolate Cake, but it looks absolutely delicious and Greg is the best!

    Not a german cake, apart from the form, which is called "Guglhupf" here, but is never made as a chocolate cake, thats a yeast based cake.
    Looks delicious, but really has absolutely nothing at all to do with ANY german cake ever baked 😂
    Like really, nothing. Half the ingridients didnt even exist here until some 30-40 years ago.
