Make your own basic cake mixes

I used a 5 lbs bag of cake flour, 3 lbs of pure cane sugar, and three envelopes of powdered milk. This makes 8-9 mixes.
2 cups cake flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
1/3 cup powdered milk
2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp powdered vanilla (instructional video will be posted soon)
1/2 tsp salt
Mix together in a large bowl then put in a plastic storage container.
Store in a cool and dry place.
Store bought cake mix, and home mixed cake mix costs about the same. However, your cake mix will be free of ingredients you may not be able to pronounce.
Use within 6 months.
When ready to make a cake –
Open and look into your oven to be sure it is empty, then preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare two 8″, OR one 9×11, OR a 12 cupcake pan (video to come)
To make up the cake mixes, empty a bag into a mixing bowl add,
1 cup water
2/3 cup melted butter, margarine or oil (or any combination of)
Mix until light and fluffy, 2-3 mins.
Pour into chosen pan and put in middle rack of preheated oven.
Bake 25 – 35 mins. Check and turn pans after 10 mins.
Cake is done when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
