Oh that's great that my tutorials helped you! Dont worry about the skirt part – it just takes practice. I cant remember the actual size as I carved it out but I think it was sitting on an 8 inch board so the base cake diameter would be around 7 inches(?). I've made them wider and narrower than this cake in the past so it really doesn't matter too much for me. If you are asking about the diameter of the round pink fondant it was about 12 inches. Hope that helps ; ) Andrea

@NurseGreeneyesRN Thank you! I dont use a wilton pan – but i do have a dolly varden pan which is similar i guess. I use it sometimes and other times I just stack round cakes on top of each other and carve the cake skirt out with a knife. I use my own texture mat which isn't a regular cake decorating tool that you can buy from cake decorating shops – although you can get lace molds or textured rolling pins or textured embossing sheets from these suppliers which are similar.

@funkylemonade I dont have a tripod or a proper video cam that I use for my videos yet – just using my cheap photo camera to do the job – with that said it has just fallen appart on me as it is so old the screws have come apart after my last doll cake videos. Will be shopping for a new camera soon so will see how I go ; )

Yey! Got to Part 2!! So I'm sure your viewers have questions. What do u use to texture/emboss your fondant? Your doll cake are AMAZINGLY beautiful!! U inspire to do one of these! But first, what kind of cake pan is this you use? Is it the Wilton Doll Cake Pan? Thank U again, for your beautiful inspiration!!! I bake cakes too and this inspires me to think right out of the box!!
