Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache
1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 Cup Cocoa Powder
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/3 Cup Oil
1/4 Cup Milk
1 Large Egg
1 Tsp Vanilla Essence
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1/4 Tsp Baking Powder
Preheat the oven @ 180 deg C
In a bowl, Add Oil and then add sugar. Beat well
Add one large egg and then goes one tsp of vanilla essence , 1/4 Cup of Milk.
Mix everything well. Add 1/2 Cup of All Purpose flour & add 1/2 cup of Cocoa Powder, baking soda, baking powder.
Mix well and pour the batter into the 6″ greased cake pan.
Bake it for about 35-40 mins or until the toothpick inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean
Cool it in the wire rack until it cools completely.
How to make Chocolate Ganache:-
2 Cups of Choco Chips/ Chocolate chunks
Use any chocolates like semi-sweet, milk chocolates or dark chocolates according to your preference.
1 Cup of Heavy Cream
Using a double boiler method, Heat the choco chips and cream together for about 5 mins. Then let the chocolates immerse in the cream completely.
Then keep mixing it till all the chocolates melt completely.
Let it cool completely. Keep some Ganache for piping the cake.
Take the remaining ganache and whip it using hand mixer for about 5 mins.
The ganache will turn into light brown colour once whipped and it will start thickening in structure. This is chocolate frosting.
Use this for frosting the cakes in between the layers and covering the whole cake.
Cut the cakes into layers. Start filling the cakes with frosting prepared.
Once the first/crumb coating is done, keep the cake in the refrigerator for about 15 mins.
Then do the second/final coating .
Start piping the cake with Ganache ( that we kept aside before )
Garnish with chocolate chunks in the middle of the cake.
Cut the cake and serve
Serves about 6 people.
